Megabass of America, the North American arm of Japan’s manufacturer of high-end fishing tackle, hired Patterson Leeth, formerly at Simms, as director of marketing.

In his new role, Patterson will lead Megabass’ North American marketing strategy and implementation. He joins the company’s leadership team effective immediately and reports to President and CEO Yuskei Murayama.

Patterson is an outdoor industry veteran. Most recently, he was the director of the brand at Simms Fishing, where he was responsible for growing the brand’s engagement and market share over his ten-year tenure. He previously led marketing for FLW.

“Patterson brings unbridled passion and a deeply shared commitment to the values we strive to instill in every facet of our business, from product to customer experience,” said Murayama. “His unique ability to merge strategic thinking with creativity, cross-functional management and granular execution will ensure that we are positioned to deliver on our promise to North American anglers.

“I find such reward in working for brands I’ve admired as a consumer,” said Leeth. “As someone with a deep appreciation for organizations who are steeped in their ethos, derive pride in their craftsmanship, and prioritize innovation, I’m honored to be joining the team at Megabass, a company that has initiated some of my most memorable days on the water. Megabass retains a loyal ecosystem of advocates, spanning bodies of water, species, and backgrounds. I’m eager to foster the existing community and create meaningful awareness for those anglers who find us along the way.”
