Shoe Carnival, Inc. announced that Carl Scibetta, senior executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, plans to retire in spring 2025 after working for over 50 years in the retail industry and over a decade at the family footwear chain.
The company reported the news in a regulatory filing.
Shoe Carnival said it plans to name Scibetta’s successor in early 2025. He will remain as the company’s senior executive vice president and chief merchandising officer until his retirement to facilitate a smooth transition with his successor during fiscal 2025.
Scibetta joined Shoe Carnival as chief merchant in 2012. Previously, he worked in merchandising roles at Belk Stores, Parisian, Shoe Corp. of America, and Wolf Shoe.
