Payntr Golf launched its Golf Eighty Seven Speed Classic shoe collection today, October 4. It was created in collaboration with PGA champion and former World No. 1 golfer Jason Day. Three additional Speed Classic models will be available in Spring 2025.
“This collaboration with Payntr Golf has been an incredible journey, and the Eighty Seven SC is just the beginning,” said Day. “From the moment I joined the Payntr golf team, I’ve been deeply involved in every aspect of this shoe’s design, from concept to final product. Our goal has always been to create a true performance advantage for golfers without sacrificing style or comfort—and I truly believe we’ve achieved that with the Eighty-Seven SC. We are excited to debut three more models to this collection in 2025.”
Payntr’s Golf Eighty Seven SC was wear-tested during the 2024 Masters by Day, who offered feedback to the company’s engineering team on the shoe’s overall design, including materials for use by competitive and casual golfers.
The Eighty Seven SC represents a milestone in Payntr Golf’s approach to footwear. It continues the company’s tradition of using technology, including a full-length Carbitex directional carbon fiber propulsion plate, which boosts ground reaction forces, delivering more power and speed in the downswing, combined with the waterproof and breathable Clarino Microfiber Performance upper and Tour Flex Pro Cleats for all course conditions.
A standout design feature is the shoe’s 87 perforated holes in the sole, which provide breathability and honor Day’s lucky number, 87.
Day holds equity ownership in Payntr Golf, furthering his commitment to the brand’s mission in the design and development of the collection. He ensures the shoe collection reflects his preferences and knowledge of what today’s golfers need in their footwear while on-course.
Mike Forsey, co-founder and president of Paynter Golf, shared, “Jason has brought a fresh perspective and invaluable insights to this collaboration. His expertise and passion for the game are evident in every aspect of the Eighty Seven SC. This is more than just a golf shoe—it’s a game-changer that will raise the bar for what golfers can expect from their footwear.”
“We have enjoyed every moment of the design process with Jason,” added Michael Glancy, co-founder and creative director of Payntr Golf. “Our goal from the very beginning was to create a shoe that offers golfers superior performance and style based on a classic-looking silo. We are confident golfers will feel the difference with the Eighty Seven SC.
