Locally has named Karen Sage its first chief marketing officer (CMO), effective immediately. Sage joins the company, further fueling its expansion, which reportedly marks a 12-month growth trajectory of over $1.8 billion in retail referral sales.
As CMO, Sage is responsible for increasing local brands’ and retailers’ capacity to grow consumer engagement while increasing sales, reinforcing its leadership as the go-to solution for the consumer shopping experience.
“Karen’s extensive marketing expertise, deep understanding of the technology sector, and proven track record of success make her an invaluable addition to our team,” said Mike Massey, founder of Locally. “Her vision aligns perfectly with our mission to bridge the gap between brands and local retailers, providing consumers with an unparalleled shopping experience.”
Sage brings over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and technology, most recently as CMO at Shipwell, where she led marketing campaigns that increased brand visibility and customer engagement. Before that, Sage worked for MercuryGate International and Cisco (CSCO), driving reported record growth.
“Locally is transforming the retail shopping landscape by streamlining the process for consumers to find their preferred products in nearby stores,” said Sage. “With online sales accounting for 15.4 percent of total retail sales last year, up from 14.7 percent in 2022 and 6 percent in 2014, Locally is at the forefront of this trend. I am excited to collaborate with a world-class team to guide Locally into its next decade of growth.”
