Puma joined The Second City, the famous comedy theatre and school of improvisation, as the organization celebrated its 50th anniversary at an event in Chicago. Puma also announced the PUMA & The Second City “LOL” Scholarship
Program, offering ten scholarships to the organization's training
center in Chicago and Los Angeles as part of The Second City Outreach & Diversity Program in an effort to increase diversity among the improv community.
PUMA will launch the scholarship program in February 2010 in the PUMA Stores on North State Street in Chicago and the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Ten young artists, five in Chicago and five in Los Angeles, will be awarded a year's worth of improv training at the Second City training centers in Chicago and Los Angeles. Details of the program and how to enter will be announced in January.
PUMA launched its partnership with The Second City as a sponsor of The Second City 50th Festival: The Benefit of Laughter supporting the Alumni Fund of Second City in Chicago from December 10 – 12.
