American Baitworks Co. acquired Freedom Tackle Corp. from co-owners Michael and Nick Tamburro. The brothers founded the company in 2012.
The Tamburro’s said the decision to sell their shares reflected Freedom Tackle Corp.’s “commitment to fortifying its position in the market and capitalizing on emerging trends in the fishing industry.”
“This transition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, as well as the support of our valued retailers,” the brothers said in a release. “We are immensely grateful for the trust and support we’ve received throughout our journey building our fishing tackle brand,” said Michael Tamburro. “This strategic move positions us to start a new chapter and give American Baitworks the foundation to grow and expand the Freedom brand.”
The company said the “sale opens doors to fresh collaborations, enhanced resources, and opportunities to amplify Freedom Tackle’s impact on the fishing tackle landscape.”
“We want to thank all of our retailers, customers, anglers, employees, friends and family who helped us take an idea and build a brand that was proudly sold in retailers around the world,” said Nick Tamburro.
