Kohl’s hired retail veteran Fred Hand as senior EVP and director of stores, reporting to President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Alves. Hand will be part of Kohl’s senior executive leadership team and support the company’s strategic focus to drive store sales and productivity.
Hand oversees Kohl’s more than 1,100 stores, store operations and experience, loss prevention and store experience, and design functions.
“Fred has a deep appreciation and passion for the power that brick & mortar retail plays in an omnichannel business model,” said Alves. “He is committed to serving customers by empowering stores and associates, and we are excited to welcome him to the Kohl’s team.”
Hand has worked in retail for over 30 years, leading store organizations at national retailers, including Burlington, Macy’s and Filene’s. Most recently, Hand was chief executive officer of Tuesday Morning. Before that, he was chief operating officer at Burlington, where he led the store’s organization for over 13 years. Before Burlington, he held senior leadership positions in stores and visual merchandising at May Department Stores (then Macy’s) and Filene’s.
“During my years in the retail industry, I’ve deeply admired Kohl’s and am so excited to now be a part of this well-loved brand,” said Hand. “I look forward to working with the senior leadership team and all of the associates across the country as we continue to serve millions of customers in our stores and execute our long-term strategy.”
