IHRSA appointed Ori Gorfine, president of U.S. Fitness Holdings and Richard Beddie, CEO of ExerciseNZ and the chief of staff to the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals (ICREP), to its Board of Directors.
Gorfine fills a vacant seat, and Beddie will represent IHRSA’s Global Health & Fitness Alliance, a group of international senior industry leaders and stakeholders.
“As we move further into a new legislative session in the nation’s capital, the IHRSA Board of Directors’ work is critical in helping the Association raise our profile as an industry and work to secure passage of important legislation like the PHIT Act,” said Board Chair Chris Craytor, CEO of Acac Fitness & Wellness Centers and CEO of Welld Health. “Each member’s experience and diverse background helps ensure that IHRSA continues to reflect the important role our industry plays in helping consumers achieve better physical and mental health. I appreciate Ori and Richard’s investment of time and energy to support the Association and industry and to continue our work of guiding IHRSA’s ongoing transformation in the days ahead.”
Gorfine, president of U.S. Fitness Holdings, owns and operates 55 full-service health clubs in five states and the District of Columbia, with clubs planned under the Onelife Fitness banner. Before his current position, Gorfine partnered with a fellow entrepreneur to launch Balance Gym, growing it to five locations in the District of Columbia.
Beddie is the CEO of Exercise New Zealand and board chief of staff for the ICREP. Previously a multi-club owner, Beddie has extensive governance experience in global exercise and recreation bodies and the vice chair of IHRSA’s Global Health & Fitness Alliance Advisory Council.
