Nike plans to enter into a multiyear partnership with Longwood University, based in Farmingdale, VA, effective July 1, 2023, replacing Adidas as its athletic outfitter.
“Nike has a legacy of championship-level innovation and success,” said Longwood Athletic Director Tim Hall. “We are excited to enter this partnership with Nike as we always look to build and improve our student-athlete experience. Our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans will benefit from this relationship.”
The deal comes as the University found success on the field and court. Its basketball programs claimed Big South titles in the 2021/22 season, and four teams advanced to conference tournament championship games.
Both basketball programs advanced to the NCAA Tournament at the NCAA Division I level, with the University’s women’s team winning an NCAA First Four game for its first DI postseason win.
The University’s softball and field hockey teams each advanced to their respective title games, and the school’s softball team won five Big South Championships in the University’s ten years in the conference.
