KMD Brands, Ltd., the parent of Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz, announced that it had completed the process to hire an additional non-executive director to its Board.
Zion Armstrong, former president of Adidas North America, agreed to join the company as a non-executive director, effective December 1, 2022.
Armstrong has a 30-year career in the global branded sportswear industry. He spent 24 years with Adidas, stepping down as president, North America for Adidas in early 2022 to return to New Zealand.
Zion began his career with Adidas in New Zealand as a product manager for footwear in 1998 before moving to Adidas’ headquarters in Germany in 2002. From 2005 to 2014, he held various leadership positions in Asia/Pacific including president and managing director of Adidas Group South Korea. Since 2015, he has been the general manager of Adidas North America and in 2018 was promoted to president, Adidas North America.

With the hire of Armstrong to the Board, John Harvey will resign as a director of the company with effective December 1, 2022.
