Igloo Products Corp announced that Jim Morley will step down as president and CEO, effective January 30. He will continue to serve as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Gary Kiedaisch, the company’s chairman, will become Igloo’s Interim president and CEO while a worldwide search for a permanent replacement is conducted.  Kiedaisch has been a chief executive for 20-years in the resort, winter sports and outdoor consumer products industries.

In addition to Kiedaisch becoming Igloo’s interim president and CEO, joining Igloo’s senior management team effective immediately, will be David Thornhill as its new executive vice president of operations and product. Thornhill is a veteran senior manager with PlayPower and The Coleman Company.

According to Kiedaisch, Jim Morley was instrumental in transforming Igloo into the leading player in the industry. “Under Jim’s leadership, the company accomplished an impressive seven-year record of growth and today is well-positioned to lead the insulated cooler category.”

He added, “Jim helped transform Igloo in many ways, including consolidating the manufacturing in Katy, Texas and growing the brand’s share of the hard-sided and soft-sided cooler market.  Jim is leaving us with an efficiently run company that’s ready for the next big step.  We’re pleased that he will continue to serve on our Board of Directors and that we’ll reap the benefit of his industry knowledge and experience.”

Morley agreed. “It has been an honor to lead Igloo in the insulated cooler industry for the last seven years.  However, it is time for me to focus on other interests and personal opportunities.  I will miss the day-to-day excitement of Igloo, my associates and the many industry friends I’ve made over the years. I’m delighted that I’ve been asked to continue to serve on Igloo’s Board of Directors.”

Underscoring the importance of strong management, Kiedaisch added, “With David Thornhill onboard, we increase our ability to grow the company and the category, build dealer margins and develop innovative new product for consumers around the world.”
