Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to open a Dick’s House of Sport location at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY. The 140,000-square-foot location is expected to be the retailer’s largest.
The store, expected to open in 2023, will feature a climbing wall, batting cages, a glass elevator, and a 17,000-square-foot turf field that will double as an ice rink during the winter. It will take over the former Macy’s location and includes two levels plus and a rooftop.
Dick’s Executive Chairman Ed Stack announced the project at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, held at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, NY. Dick’s was founded nearby in Binghamton, NY.
Dick’s opened its first Dick’s House of Sport in 2021 and now has three stores in Rochester, NY; Knoxville, TN; and Minnetonka, MN.
