A Helen of Troy brand and manufacturer of carrying solutions, Osprey, introduces its hydration reservoir series with a pending patent design.

“From the handle to the hose and baffles to the bite valve, we thought through every interaction and aspect of our Hydraulics design to identify opportunities for a better user experience—redesigning, reshaping and updating to create our best reservoir series to date,” said Erik Hamerschlag, senior product manager, Osprey.

The Hydraulics Series features:

  • An ergonomic handle for easy carry and one-handed filling and pouring;
  • Compact bite valve with thumb-operated on/off lever for optimum water flow;
  • Compact Slide-Seal opening that slides into packs and integrates with Osprey’s HydraClip reservoir attachment built into its hydration packs;
  • Updated magnet system, including magnet, sternum slider and sternum buckle, to secure hose capture;
  • Baffle design that flattens the reservoir profile and carries the stiffness of the backer plate to the front panel to prevent buckling when loading into the pack.

The Hydraulics Series is available Hydraulics 3L Reservoir and Hydraulics 2L Reservoir for long days on the trail and equipped with the backerplate; Hydraulics LT 2.5L Reservoir and Hydraulics LT 1.5L Reservoir, Osprey’s lightest reservoirs, suited for smaller packs; and Hydraulics LT 1.5L Lumbar Reservoir, designed to support Osprey’s Seral Lumbar Pack.
