Sher-Wood Hockey Acquires Inglasco Assets

Sher-Wood Hockey Inc. announced that it has purchased  the inventory, receivables and certain manufacturing  assets relating to Inglasco Ltd., a Sherbrooke, Quebec based producer and distributor of hockey related novelty products as well as NHL and CFL licensed merchandise.  The company had sought protection from its creditors on July 17, 2008.


Ralph Trott, president and CEO of Sher-wood Hockey Inc., said “This group of assets provides significant increased revenue through our cost structure; and that will improve profitability as we gain momentum in the market.  It also creates greater marketing opportunity for the Sher-Wood and SWD Hockey brands given the complementary distribution channels the products share.”


This continues a rocky business year for Sher-Wood, whose business assets were purchased in May by investment firm Carpe Diem Growth. In addition to acquiring the Sher-Wood business, Carpe Diem also renamed the business and named Trott as president and CEO.

“We are very excited by this opportunity to increase our portfolio as a key supplier of hockey related sports products,” said Dean Topolinski, chairman of Sher-Wood Hockey Inc.  “Our goal is to leverage these assets with our existing Sher-Wood capabilities to become the supplier of first choice for both licensed NHL  products as well as our extensive line of hockey sticks and protective gear.”
