Neos launched its Glacier Trek SPK outsole technology for extreme cold-weather traction. The technology, which uses biomechanical placed stainless steel spikes, will be available in four styles in its Fall 2021 collection.

Designed to be worn over footwear, Neos overshoes are created to be versatile, lightweight, easy to pack, and slip-on/off.  Its winter collection stands up to daily wear and extremely cold weather.

Glacier Trek SPK ice traction cleats are engineered to offer traction and durability with a non-corrosive, heat-treated metal that digs into ice and snow quickly. The spike’s ergonomic placement allows the wearer’s body weight to transfer to the ground, resulting in a higher coefficient of friction for better grip.

“Neos continues its heritage as a pioneer in the industry and one of the first to offer a lightweight layer of additional protection, insulation and traction to both the outdoor and industrial categories with Glacier Trek SPK,” said Bo Thai, Neos product manager.  “Neos products are lightweight, packable and versatile – end usage options are endless, from protecting construction workers and electricians to postal workers and crossing guards to park rangers, ski resort staff and ice fishermen.”

The four new styles with Glacier Trek SPK for Fall 2021 are 100 percent waterproof with durable windproof uppers. Each boot features a 2.5mm polyurethane internal bootie, a cleat wrench and internal pocket for storage when changing cleats is necessary; an adjustable hook-and-loop strap system for customized fit, lightweight design and compact convenience.

The heel of the VNG1 and VNG1 is 11-inches high; the VNGI heel also offers a 90-degree breasted heel for security on ladders; the EXSG has an 11-inch heel height with added insulation; and the N5P3G also has added insulation, higher abrasion durability in the upper, expandable gaiter to increase the boot height from 15-inches to 20-inches.
