In an exclusive partnership, Smith and Aleck launched a new snow helmet audio program this season with the co-branded Aleck 006 Wired and Aleck 006 Wireless audio systems.
This week, both brands announced that the Smith x Aleck 006 headset was a 2021 ISPO Award winner among the Snowsports Equipment category.
“We’re extremely happy to receive such prestigious recognition for the Smith x Aleck 006 headset,” said Stephen Catterson, Aleck Founder & CEO. “We’ve worked hard to provide the snowsports market with a product that’s packed full of features and functionality to elevate the user experience on the mountain. We are committed to bringing only the best possible products to market and pushing innovation boundaries. We’re confident that this is just the beginning of what will be an incredibly exciting future for Aleck, Smith and our ongoing partnership.”
“Since day one, we were excited to partner with Aleck in bringing a modern, quality audio solution into our product range,” said Jeremy Tricola, global snow category manager, Smith. “Aleck’s approach to innovation, tied with their relentless pursuit to make the best products possible, is a natural pairing with Smith as we continue to elevate our product line. A well-deserved ISPO Award confirms our expectations of this superior partnership.”
The Smith x Aleck Drop-In audio program fit universally within audio-compatible snow helmets by integrating the ergonomic, low profile ear pads with thin drivers – designed to provide audio quality and intuitive group communication via a glove-friendly, ‘push-to-talk’ walkie-talkie function from the user’s helmet. The unit comes with audio and volume controls, phone call capability and voice command (Siri & Google Assistant).
When paired with the Aleck GO! mobile app (available for iOS and Android), the system offers an in-app equalizer and includes GPS.
The Smith x Aleck audio system works at -20ºC/-4F with IPX-4 sweat and water resistance.
