Leeds United, which earned a promotion to the Premier League last week, said Adidas will become its official kit partner from the 2020/21 season in a record-breaking deal for the club. Adidas will take over from the Italian sportswear brand Kappa whose five-year deal with the club expires at the end of the current season.
Adidas will produce both play and training kits for all Leeds United teams over the next five years. The club is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Adidas becomes its official kit partner for the first time in the club’s history in what will mark a new era in the Premier League following its Sky Bet Championship winning centenary season. Along with its official playing and training kit, apparel from Adidas will also be available both via its online retail website and at its Elland Road superstore, Leeds/Bradford Airport, Merrion Centre, Trinity Leeds, and White Rose Centre stores, along with the Adidas website and selected stores.
Leeds United Chief Executive Angus Kinnear said, “We are excited Adidas has become our official kit partner. We’re looking forward to our return to the Premier League with anticipation next season and partnering with Adidas, who is one of the most recognisable names in the sport and represents a new beginning for the club. At Leeds United, we continue to grow on and off the pitch, and this record-breaking deal is another important step for the club.”
A date for the official kit launch will be announced shortly.
Adidas is the official supplier to tournaments across the world including the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA EURO 2020 and the UEFA Champions League. Leeds United joins some of the world’s top clubs including Real Madrid and Juventus in partnering with the sports brand.
