Gander Mountain Company announced nine stores to open in the fall of 2007. These stores will complete the company's plan to open 13 new stores in 2007, bringing the Gander Mountain network to 115.

The new stores, scheduled to open in September and October, will be located in the following markets:

  • Waukesha, Wisconsin
  • Jackson, Tennessee
  • Rochester, Minnesota
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Lubbock, Texas
  • Evansville, Indiana
  • Hattiesburg, Mississippi
  • Richmond, Virginia
  • Bowling Green, Kentucky

The Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Rochester, Minnesota, locations will replace existing Gander Mountain stores. The remaining seven stores are new locations. Of the nine stores to be opened this fall, three are renovations of existing buildings, while six are new construction for Gander Mountain. All will have outside selling areas for boats, ATVs, and other large items. Each will include an in-store gunsmith, a full-service archery shop with shooting lanes, a bait shop, ATV and marine service, and a Gander Lodge meeting space available to local organizations free of charge.

“We are excited to increase our network to a total of 115 stores, still the largest, by a wide margin, of any outdoor retailer specializing in hunting, fishing, boating and camping,” said Mark Baker, Gander Mountain president and CEO. “We're entering Mississippi for the first time in Hattiesburg. We look forward to developing the same close relationship with outdoor enthusiasts in Mississippi as we have in all the new southern markets we've entered,” added Baker. “We're also building a new store in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the state where the Gander Mountain brand began back in 1960. It's great to move into new territories, but equally satisfying to continue to bring great outdoor experiences to our long-standing customers throughout the country.”
