L.L.Bean will receive a nearly $10 million tax break from the city of Freeport, ME to support the $110 million expansion of its headquarters, according to the Portland Press Herald.
In exchange for the tax incentive, L.L. Bean officials granted an easement on property intended for a multi-use trail and will help clean up Concord Gully Brook, a longtime priority for the town.
The project would generate roughly $25 million in new tax revenue for the town over the next 30 years and launch plans to help clean up a polluted stream in town, according to the report.
