Roswell Brayton, Jr., Woolrichs president, passed away suddenly last week. He was 55 years old. Brayton collapsed on March 12 at Woolrich headquarters in Woolrich, Penn. He was rushed to Jersey Shore Hospital where medical personnel were unable to revive him. A sixth generation of the founding Rich family, Roswell grew up in Woolrich, Penn. and joined the company in 1978. Brayton became president of Woolrich in 1996 and assumed the role of CEO in 1997.The company's succession plan has not been announced at this time. Brayton leaves behind his wife, Sally, and seven children.
Services were held in Williamsport, Penn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brayton Family Scholarship Fund at Lycoming College, 700 College Place, Williamsport, PA 17701 or the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
