Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the National Ski Areas Association has canceled its National Convention and Tradeshow scheduled for early May in Florida.
“These are unprecedented and trying times across the ski industry as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread through our nation and the world,” NSAA Director of Marketing and Communications Adrienne Saia Isaac wrote in an email Wednesday night. “NSAA values the health and safety of its members, and the communities in which we work and play. Given that and the CDC’s latest recommendations for mass gatherings and stopping community spread of the virus, NSAA is canceling its 2020 National Convention and Tradeshow. This is the first time in 58 years that we have canceled this event, and the decision was not made lightly.”
NSAA said those who have already registered for the event will automatically receive a full refund of their registration and (if applicable) tradeshow costs. Members can find more information about refunds and cancellations on the event home page.
“This industry is resilient,” Isaac said. “The people in it are a strong community. We will continue to work together with and support our members, and lift each other up through this difficult time.”
