FOTL quietly made the move last week to replace the top spot at Russell Athletic, replacing CEO Calvin Johnston with new CEO Doug Kelly, the former Pro Player executive.
While FOTL and Russell weren’t talking, insiders say the move was made to bolster Russell’s new positioning as a marketing company with a solid brand manager at the top. Johnston was seen as an operations guy, a role that will be managed by FOTL.

Mr. Kelly was already in place last Monday.
