Samsonite International S.A. reported sales on a currency-neutral sales grew 22.1 percent for Gregory in the six months ended June 30 but fell 11.9 percent for High Sierra.
On a reported basis, sales at High Sierra were down 12.8 percent to U.S.$39.3 million from $45 million. Gregory’s sales were up $34.9 million against $29.1 million, up 19.7 percent.
Samsonite attributed the year-on-year decline at High Sierra was due to reduced replenishment orders and some shift in order timing by retailers in North America. Gregory’s gains were driven by continued strong growth in Asia.
