Kelty concluded their national search for a marketing manager this week, announcing the hire of Christian Mason to fill the essential slot on the Kelty team, beginning on August 1, 2006. Mason was formerly the director of product development at Mountainsmith.
“Christians personality and experience made him the ideal candidate to join the team-oriented Kelty program,” said Kenny Ballard, president of Kelty. “His diverse background in the Outdoor Industry gives him the fluency we need in the marketing chair.”
Prior to Mountainsmith, Mason worked with Dakine as a Rocky Mountain sales representative. His experience also includes being the marketing director and eventual general manager of Prijon-Wildwasser Sport USA.
As Keltys marketing manager, Mason will provide essential support to a company that caters to the full range of outdoor participants — from veteran mountaineers exploring the world to young families seeking a weekend away from home. Responsible for managing and growing the Kelty brand in front of retailers and consumers, Mason will oversee national advertising and public relations efforts, creative efforts including web and print design, and specific strategic initiatives.
