Hurley added Maria Barnes, as Senior Vice President of Women’s Young Contemporary. In her new role, Maria will oversee the division’s global Brand direction and growth strategy.

Barnes brings strong sales and marketing experience in the young contemporary and tween markets, with a successful track record in sales strategy and product development. Barnes spent the last eight years as the head of sales for Roxy swimwear and accessories, overseeing the North American sales group. She originally joined Quiksilver as the brand manager for Alex Goes, and was influential in shaping the contemporary brand’s sales and marketing direction.

“Hurley’s Young Contemporary business is at a very exciting time in its evolution and Maria is a perfect match for this division,” said Bob Hurley, ceo, Hurley. “Maria’s extensive knowledge and sales experience in the action sports industry, along with her strong relationships with many of our key retailers, make her the ideal candidate to help maximize our growth in this area. She is a great leader and we’re happy to have her join our team.”

Barnes graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecom/Film and minors in Journalism and French. She will be based at Hurley headquarters in Costa Mesa, California.
