Mark Martin, President of both Marmot Mountain LLC, and the Technical Apparel Platform of K2 Inc., made several personnel appointments for the platform. The Technical Apparel Platform is the operating unit in the Apparel and Footwear Division of K2, Inc. responsible for manufacturing and delivering apparel for Ex Officio, K2 Snow, Marmot, Marker apparel, and Volkl apparel. Martin is President of the platform, and the operating unit is located in Santa Rosa, CA.
In describing the appointments, Martin said, “This new management team is responsible for coordinating and leveraging the operations, finance, and strategic sales management of the apparel brands. We have already opened our new consolidated apparel distribution center in Reno. While we have many other initiatives in place, the design, product development, marketing, and sales force will remain discrete and independent for each brand.”
“Marmot has operated under a similar model for years with its Vancouver, Hong Kong, and German offices, so theres nothing fundamentally different here,” Martin explained. “We have found this structure provides the best balance between scaled economies and differentiated brands in our highly competitive market.”
