The U.S. Ski Team is a major passion point for the Spyder brand.
Every hundredth of a second counts in winning a race, and we’ve worked in painstaking detail to ensure every technical advancement is employed, every athlete is body mapped with perfect precision, and every last aspect of design and development of our race suits are thoughtfully considered.”
— Brady Collings, VP of Marketing, Spyder

The precision and detail that come together in Spyder’s Velocity 18 one-piece ski suit are the result of knowledge gained over almost three decades working with the U.S. Ski team as the organization’s exclusive apparel partner.

Research began last April for the ski suit, and since then the Spyder team completed almost a dozen wind tunnel tests and on-snow trials, tested the suit on world-class team athletes in various tuck positions and worked through more than 50 prototypes using various fabric combinations and constructions on the way to perfecting the speed suit.

Each of the team athletes is wearing a made-to-measure suit down to the millimeter and right up to race time. To ensure optimum performance for the team athletes, the Velocity 18 is a one-race-only suit. Used suits will be handed down as training suits to junior development programs.

Spyder will manufacture and distribute a limited number of speed suits.
