In a letter to team dealers received from SGB, Spalding has indicated that BSN Sports will now handle sales of Baseball, Football, Soccer and Volleyball products sold into the team channel.
“BSN will source, distribute, and service all the products currently offered in these categories,” wrote Ed Dvorak, SVP global for Spalding, in the letter.
BSN will use current Spalding specifications for the product while offering them on both a direct to school model and through the existing distributor model to Spalding dealers. Spalding’s 2018 wholesale pricing model will be honored by BSN. As of January 19, Spalding will no longer accept any new orders in those categories and team dealers are being advised to work directly with BSN Sports after that date.
Spalding will continue to source, distribute, and service the Spalding Basketball, Dudley Softball, and Spalding Equipment businesses. Wrote Dvorak, “We feel that a more focused strategy on these core businesses will help elevate and grow these products for you and your customers.”
