Variflex is seeking a Senior Product Manager to be responsible for the development of a sporting goods product line. This includes working with designers to create the product concept as well as working with the factory on product specifications. The Sr. Product Manager ensures that there are clear and consistent standards in direction, design and quality of the product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and launch of a line of products from concept ideation to product development and market positioning.
- Define product and product line. Margin analysis, product specifications, vendor management. Negotiate costs.
- Find and develop new Asian suppliers
- Market research. A thorough understanding of competition through competitive shopping
- Travel to Asia
Required Skills:
- Previous exp. bringing a product line to market.
- 4+ yrs of Product Management experience within a consumer goods industry. Outdoor product development experience strongly preferred.
- Detail oriented, organized and great communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Highly developed Microsoft Word & Excel computer skills.
- Strong sense of ownership
- College degree required
