Summit Sports acquired Kentucky-based Loucon LLC, which operates SnowSportDeals.com.
SnowSportDeals.com is known in the industry for used and closeout snow and sports equipment, a market in which Summit Sports is looking to expand its presence. Summit Sports purchased Loucon in May of 2017. The business will continue to operate with its previous owner, Chris Chapman, as general manager.
The acquisition comes near the one-year anniversary of its most recent acquisition of Texas-based Austin Canoe & Kayak (ACK).

Loucon’s 40,000 square foot warehouse will allow for Summit Sports to increase available inventory for all its brands and increase its distribution footprint with improved expedited shipping services. According to FedEx, more than 70 percent of the U.S. is within a two-day shipping window from this location.
“The acquisition gives us the opportunity to expand our distribution facilities to better serve our customers,” said Summit Sports VP of Operations, Ray Luckadoo. “Furthermore, the addition of Loucon to the Summit Sports family of outdoor brands will also allow us to increase our offerings in discounted and used gear.”
Summit Sports LLC owns and operates a number of outdoor action sport e-commerce sites, including ack.com, skis.com, snowboards.com and inlineskates.com, along with nine physical stores in Michigan and Texas.
