686 will partner with New Era Cap for the 2007-2008 exclusive Times line outerwear collection for men and women. 686 introduced the Times line to the snowboarding world three seasons ago, and is the first and only company to collaborate with other premium companies to combine actual inventions from each brand integrated into technical outerwear.

“I’m very excited about the 686 x New Era collaboration for 07/08,” explains Michael Akira West, president and creative director at 686, “We’ve definitely pushed the limits in terms of product innovation, historical imagery and waterproof technologies. Put simply, we’re doing something that’s never been done before.”

For 2007/2008, the 686 X New Era team designed a waterproof/breathable New Era 59FIFTY cap, with a proprietary interlocking system on select jackets. Taking trends from current and historical influences as well as 686 and New Era’s urban and artistic roots, the 686 X New Era designers developed an exclusive vintage baseball woven jacquard and all over printed fabric, along with custom New Era 59FIFTY accented trims. These limited edition pieces are packed with technical function that one demands from their outerwear and are a must for the true tastemaker.

“New Era is synonymous with quality and innovation; two traits the Times Collection embraces,” comments Braden Dahl, marketing manager for New Era, “We created this project with the intent of bringing a new conceptual design to the industry and the riders, and feel we have succeeded in both. The amazing response generated from reps, retailers and team riders alike continues to justify the purpose behind the collection and product itself.”
