360fly Inc., a  Pittsburgh, PA start-up company that will begin shipping its first action camera in August, signed U.S. Olympian and multitime National Champion mountain biker Todd Wells as its newest brand ambassador. Wells joins other action sports athletes developing content to demonstrate the capabilities of the 360fly, which the company is marketing as the world's only single-lens camera capable of capturing stitchless 360-degree video.

Through a dominant career spanning nearly two decades, Wells has seen the growth of action cameras in the industry and uses them extensively. Upon first exposure to 360fly, Wells was instantly impressed with its innovative 360-degree video and game-changing mobile and interactive platform.

“360fly is a game changer, and not merely for its video format, but also the mobile efficiency to capture, edit and share video on the fly. That really blew me away,” said Wells. “The things I can do with it on the bike are going to be awesome. But I’m also excited about capturing my family’s special moments in 360-degrees. Unlike traditional point-and-shoot cameras, 360fly will allow me to step out from behind the viewfinder and be fully engaged in those experiences.”

In 2010, Wells became the first male rider to win three national titles in different cycling disciplines in the same season: Mountain Bike Cross Country, Mountain Bike Short Track and Cyclo-cross. He has since turned his focus to competing in endurance mountain bike riding and found success by winning two of the sport’s most demanding races – the Leadville 100 and La Ruta Conquistadores.

“As an avid mountain bike rider myself, I have followed Todd’s incredible career over the years,” said Peter Adderton, 360fly CEO. “His ability to compete at a high level for so long is something this sport rarely sees. We’re excited to welcome Todd to the 360fly team and look forward to seeing the content he captures both on and off the bike.”

The 360fly, shown to the right, is a single-lens camera that introduces an innovative new way to capture the world around you in a 360-degree video format that’s fully interactive. The advantage of using a single lens is that there’s no additional stitching of individual video feeds.

360fly packs HD, 360-degree video into a lightweight, water resistant and rugged device that is smaller than a baseball. With 360fly you can capture everything around you, share to your favorite social media pages and interact to immerse yourself in the video.

Wells joins a growing 360fly athlete roster highlighted by motocross star Chad Reed, freestyle BMX rider Terry Adams and pro surf champion Carissa Moore. Additionally, 360fly recently announced a relationship with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), who won a 2015 X-GAMES silver medal in Global Rally Cross. 360fly will also sponsor CGR in one round of the  NASCAR Sprint Series.
