2XU, the compression apparel specialist, appointed Brian Anderson as president of its North America subsidiary. With nearly 20 years of experience in executive leadership roles with high-growth sports product companies, Anderson is the prime candidate to lead 2XU’s rapid expansion in North America.
Anderson joins 2XU with a wide breadth of experience across various sectors of the sporting goods, fitness, outdoor and active lifestyle markets. Having previously served as CEO of Moji, CEO of Madd Gear, president of EB Sport Group and global SVP of sales and marketing of 180s, Anderson has experience building brands and growing companies that design and develop products for athletes across numerous sports. A marathon runner and multi-sport athlete himself, Anderson was a 2010 recipient of the SGB 40 Under 40 Award. He currently sits on several boards, including the Board of Directors of the Sports and Fitness Industry Association (SFIA).
“2XU is a perfect fit for me,” said Anderson. “It’s rare to find a company with such a rich history of rapid growth, yet still such huge growth potential. In our industry, it all starts with product; 2XU makes the best performance compression products in the world, as evidenced by the fact that 2XU compression apparel is purchased and worn by Ironman triathlon champions, the Navy SEALs, and some of the world’s elite pro athletes in basketball, baseball, football, tennis and skiing, many of whom have huge endorsement contracts with other sports apparel brands. I am very excited to help grow a company rooted in product excellence and athletic performance enhancement across a wide variety of sports.”
Since its launch in 2005, Australian-based 2XU has grown from a triathlon-focused product company to a full athletic apparel brand, specializing in medical-grade compression apparel aimed at enhancing performance during sport and accelerating recovery after sport. 2XU’s growth is further highlighted by a major investment from European luxury goods conglomerate LVMH in 2013. This month, 2XU successfully pre-launched its new, technologically advanced line of recovery tights and socks at the NYC Marathon Expo.
“We’re thrilled to have Brian coming on board at such a pivotal time for 2XU,” says Paul Higgins, global CEO of 2XU. “We are confident that under Brian’s leadership, 2XU’s market presence and growth rate will accelerate in North America.”
