Ironman announced that the 2023 VinFast Ironman World Championship triathlon would continue with a two-day format in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on October 12-14.
This year, for the first time in the 40-plus-year history of the triathlon’s event, the 2022 VinFast Ironman World Championship will take place over two days in Kona, Hawaii, on October 6 and 8. With the two-day format to continue in 2023. Ironman will have a dedicated day of racing for the women’s field on Thursday and the men’s field on Saturday.
Dedicated female and male race days increase qualifying opportunities, including expanded slot allocations at regional championships and increased opportunities for women at 17 Ironman triathlons worldwide, designated as Women For Tri events, creating more than 1,200 additional opportunities to qualify for the VinFast Ironman World Championship.
