1791 Outdoor Lifestyle Group, the manufacturer of leather products, holsters, EDC tool organizers, and associated sporting goods, hired Justin Hoffman to the recently created position as director of product development to meet the growing demand for the company’s products in all market segments.
Hoffman reports to 1791 Outdoor Lifestyle Group’s COO, Alex Toussieh.
Hoffman brings both professional and tactical experience to the position. He served in the U.S. Navy from 2005 to 2010 as a VBSS Counter Piracy Boarding team member. During his three tours of duty to the 5th Fleet, Hoffman conducted over ninety boardings and flag verifications supporting CTF 151 and 152, respectively. When he left the Navy, Hoffman became a professional firearms instructor, “training over 2500 students specializing in concealed carry, tactical rifle and pistol training.” He joined the product development side of the industry in 2019 as a product manager, developing holsters and tactical products for military, law enforcement and private citizens.
“We are thrilled to announce Justin’s appointment as the new director of product development at 1791. With his robust background and extensive experience crafting purpose-built solutions, Justin brings a dynamic approach to innovation that resonates perfectly with our company’s ethos. His dedication to creating best-in-market products aligns seamlessly with our commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering unparalleled value to our customers. Together, we’re poised to elevate our offerings to new heights and set new standards of excellence in the industry,” said Toussieh.
“I am excited to join my friends at 1791 OLG,” said Hoffman. “Being prepared to protect my family is very important to me, as it is to our customers. Being armed with the right mindset, tactics, skill, and gear is paramount in the harsh and unforgiving environment known as a deadly force encounter—whether it be the two-legged or four-legged variety. I am excited to bring value and insight to 1791 as we develop the highest caliber equipment for the self-defense and outdoor space to ensure our consumers are as prepared as possible for the encounter they hope to never experience.”
As the Director of Product Development, Hoffman will collaborate with vendors, business-to-business customers and consumers to create new and innovative products that meet the needs of a rapidly growing and changing marketplace and environment. A senior position dedicated to product development reflects the company’s commitment and passion for providing the best products for concealed and open carry, outdoor adventure and everyday carry for tools and other essentials.
