Zamst, a leader in sports prevention and protective equipment, announced a partnership with professional ice hockey center and Captain of Anaheim Ducks, Ryan Getzlaf.

A first round selection, Getzlaf is also a two-time Olympian and Gold Medalist for Canada and has played his entire professional career in the Ducks organization. He also ranks as one of the Duck’s all-time leading scorers and has played in two NHL All-Star Games.

Having suffered from a high ankle sprain in 2010, Getzlaf is familiar with the determination and physical demands required to come back from an injury. He worked hard through his therapy to recover, just in time to help lead Canada to a Gold Medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Getzlaf and Zamst will collaborate to determine the best bracing and support solutions which are integral to a hockey player’s performance, such as the A1-S, a low profile brace that stabilizes the ankle.

“I have suffered from ankle injuries on and off throughout my career and have tried many products to help prevent injury and provide support,” said Getzlaf.  “I am impressed by the heritage in the medical sports field that Zamst has, but more important, by how knowledgeable their team is when it comes to addressing my individual protection and prevention needs to keep me at the top of my game.”

“It’s been incredible to watch Ryan dominate in his sport,” said Bryan Smeltzer, general manager of Zamst USA. “We are always looking to provide sport specific solutions to athletes’ protection and prevention product needs, and having the opportunity to work with Ryan, who is at the pinnacle of his sport, is a great alignment with our brand. We are honored to have him on our Zamst Elite team.”
