Z-Man Fishing Products, Inc. said an affiliate has acquired from Rad Lures, Inc. all of the trademarks, patents, designs, trade dress rights and other intellectual property associated with the Chatterbaitbrand.

Included in the deal is the popular original Chatterbait and all related lures created after the Chatterbait became available in 2006.

Commenting on the transaction, Jonathan Zucker, President of Z-Man, said, “We believe there are significant opportunities for future growth across the board in the Chatterbait line. As an established leader and innovator in both the freshwater and saltwater markets, Z-Man is well positioned to continue its growth with such products as the original Chatterbait, ChatterFrog, Elaztech stretch plastics, EZ Skirt, EZ Eggs, UltraShrimp and SilaFlas.”

Ron Davis, President of Rad Lures and along with his father the inventor of the Chatterbait, expects to remain active in the industry.

The deal will further solidify Z-Man's position as a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of tournament quality fishing lures and stretch baits. In particular, Z-Man has its own in-house design teams and manufacturing capacity, giving it a unique ability to quickly and efficiently invent, prototype, manufacture and sell lures in the marketplace.

With the recent hiring of H. D. Wood Advertising — one of the most respected names in outdoor products marketing — lures carrying the Z-Man brand, including the entire Chatterbait line, will be receiving extensive national exposure at the trade and consumer level via aggressive print and TV advertising.
