Yeti, a manufacturer of heavy-duty coolers and tumblers, will open its first flagship store in Austin, according to a report by the Austin American-Statesman.
The store, to be located at 220 South Congress Ave., will open in the first half of 2017. The company is based in Austin. The store will be part of the city’s South Central Waterfront revitalization project.
The store will also serve as a community place to support various events, such as concerts and film screenings. Corey Maynard, Yeti vice president for marketing, told the newspaper, “The Yeti Flagship will be a destination for locals and tourists to celebrate our collective passion for the wild, and our roots here in Austin.”
In July, Yeti filed for an initial public offering. In October, a Wall Street Journal report indicated the company was considering delaying its debut as a public company in order to raise more private capital. Also this year, Yeti announced plans for a new 175,000-square-foot headquarters in Southwest Austin.
