Kanye West’s Yeezy appointed Nur Abbas, previously Nike ACG’s design director, as head of design.
In his role, Abbas will report directly to West to further expand the brand’s reach and launch special projects. He will also oversee West’s music merchandise and Stemware, a clothing line to accompany West’s Stem player.
Abbas is also tasked with Yeezy Gap, originally overseen by Mowalola Ogunlesi.
“I’m energized to work with Ye because he cares so deeply about design and moving culture forward,” Abbas told WWD. “At Yeezy and GAP I’ve met some of the most talented people and teams, and I’m looking forward to working with them all to extend this new creative vision to the world.”
Abbas has also worked for Nikelab Apparel, Uniqlo, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci.
