Yakima announced its 2014 bronze-level sponsorship of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), the organizing body for high school mountain biking in the United States.

“At Yakima, we are passionate about getting people of all ages outside and active,” said Summer Henderson, Global Marketing Manager at Yakima. “We are thrilled to partner with NICA and support their amazing work in getting kids excited about mountain biking and growing the sport at the high school level“

“We’re super pleased to have Yakima supporting our efforts to get more kids on bikes,” said Austin McInerny, NICA’s Executive Director.  “Yakima represents the shared adventure, the road trips, and the stories that result in ‘getting there.’ NICA is providing the genesis for those stories, not only about the ‘getting there’ in getting across the finish line and to races with family and friends, but also ‘getting there’ by getting through high school with stories that are had only through the unique experience of a high school mountain bike team.”

As a Bronze Level sponsor, Yakima will work with NICA throughout the year to help bring visibility and support to the organization, its high school teams and its coaches and directors. In addition to direct monetary support and access to product, Yakima’s Road Warriors will be at select races and events to meet with attendees and support the student racers.
