Rumble Boxing is expanding into Asia by opening its first studio in Japan. The boxing and strength-focused fitness boutique brand owned by Xponential Fitness said the new venture marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues to expand its global footprint.

Wellness X Asia, led by Naoki Shimabukuro, is leading the expansion efforts. Shimabukuro has reportedly introduced other Xponential Fitness concepts to the Japanese market, including Club Pilates and CycleBar.

Wellness X Asia acquired Master Franchise rights for Club Pilates in 2019 and has since launched 55 studios across Japan. Following this milestone, the company opened its first CycleBar studio in early 2023.

“We are very excited to see Wellness X Asia open their first Rumble Boxing location in Japan,” said Bob Kaufman, president of International, Xponential Fitness, Inc. “Their proven ability to develop Club Pilates demonstrates their expertise and dedication to the fitness market. We look forward to watching Rumble Boxing make a powerful impact in this vibrant and growing market.”

Rumble Boxing pairs boxing, HIIT, metabolic conditioning, and strength training into a group fitness workout suitable for all fitness levels, and plans to open 100 studios.

“Expanding Rumble Boxing into Japan represents a thrilling new chapter for both our company and the Japanese fitness landscape,” said Shimabukuro. “Our success with other Xponential brands has paved the way for Rumble Boxing to make a powerful impact. We are committed to delivering the high-energy, community-driven workouts that have made Rumble Boxing a global sensation.”
