Jeremy Bloom, entrepreneur, philanthropist and the first athlete to compete in the Winter Olympics as a skier while drafted into the NFL, has been appointed CEO of the X Games. Bloom’s hire follows “unprecedented growth” for the Games and the evolution of Winter and Summer leagues since being acquired by MSP Sports Capital.
As an athlete, Bloom was the youngest male freestyle skier to make the U.S. Olympic team and went on to become a three-time World Champion, two-time Olympian, eleven-time World Cup Gold Medalist, and the youngest freestyle skier inducted into the U.S. Skiing Hall of Fame. He also found success as an All-American wide receiver at the University of Colorado and was drafted in 2006 by the Philadelphia Eagles as a wide receiver and return specialist and later joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In 2010, he co-founded and served as CEO of the B2B software company Integrate, which was acquired in 2022 by Audax Private Equity. He remained CEO until stepping down to move into his role with the X Games; however, he still holds a seat on the company’s Board of Directors. Additionally, Bloom has served on the board of trustees for U.S. Ski and Snowboard for the past seven years.
Bloom also founded Wish of a Lifetime in 2008 in honor of his grandmother. The non-profit grants lifelong wishes to 80, 90 and 100-plus-year-olds and has “fulfilled thousands of wishes in just about every state since its inception.” AARP acquired Wish of a Lifetime in 2020. Bloom is the Board chairman of the organization.
“The opportunity to lead the X Games is more than just a professional milestone—it’s a deeply personal honor. Returning to my roots in sports and action sports, in particular, feels like coming home,” said Bloom. “The X Games is an iconic brand, and I have immense admiration and respect for our athletes, who are truly the best in the world.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jeremy as the leader of X Games. His dedication, athletic experience and proven track record of building and managing successful companies will be instrumental in continuing to elevate our X Games properties and the X Games League,” commented Jeff Moorad, partner, MSP and executive chairman of the X Games.
“With MSP’s guidance, X Games is poised to transform into year-round international competition in league structures that will enable athletes to earn compensation well beyond the $2.4 million already awarded through existing prize purses,” MSP suggested. “Through Bloom’s leadership and experience, the organization will look to strengthen the games across areas such as athlete engagement, global expansion, fan experience, and community outreach as it transitions to a cutting-edge league structure.”
