The World Shoe Association and The Fashion Group Internationalâ Foundation of Los Angeles, Inc. announce scholarship award winners in the WSA-sponsored scholarships for footwear and handbag design, that is a part of the FGI-LA Scholarship program. WSA will invite designers of winning submissions to be guests in Las Vegas for the WSA Show.

“This design competition helps recognize future design leaders in the industry and creates an unparalleled networking opportunity for the winners in the ‘real world’ of the footwear and accessories industry,” said Diane Stone, COO of WSA. “The creativity and style of these winners will help to keep our industry evolving in exciting directions for decades to come.”

The student winners for 2006 are:

  • Ra Synclair Hall- FIDM
  • Adrianne Nicole Alusha – FIDM
  • Wei-Li Chen- FIDM
  • Jeannette Sanford Hawes – FIDM
  • Joo-Hee Oh – OTIS
  • Jung Eun Kim – FIDM

The scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 each for first place and $1,000 each for second place will formally be presented at the August 2006 WSA Show. The winning designs of the WSA-FGI 2006 Competition will be put on display at the August 2006 WSA Show, where more than 36,000 participants from 90 countries will view them.
