Wren Sports, the U.S.-based supplier of Wren inverted suspension forks and bike parts, hired Richard Hurst as managing director of its European operation.

Hurst is responsible for establishing a European distributor network to expand and sell the Wren Sports product line. Wren Sports currently works with several European OEM e-bike manufacturers and has developed a cargo bike fork to support its goal of increasing micro-mobility in cities throughout Europe.

Kevin Wren, managing director at Wren Sports, said, “Richard has been our exclusive distributor via his Podium Sports brand in the U.K. for the past two years, and the success and growth of Wren sales in the U.K. makes him the perfect person to drive our expansion across the rest of Europe. We remain a boutique brand for customers who want top-quality products made with care that have been tested in the harshest of conditions, and Richard will be making these products available across Europe. Richard has also demonstrated his commitment to Wren Sports by becoming a shareholder alongside Kozo Shimano and our other strategic partners.”

Hurst said, “The growth in U.K. sales of Wren products over the past two years has been remarkable. More and more riders have switched to the benefits of inverted suspension forks and appreciate the quality of our carbon handlebars and ancillary products, such as the lowest-weight ISO-certified stems. This is an exciting new chapter of growth for the company, and I will be looking to find partners across Europe with the right passion to take our products into their home markets.”
