Woolrich has promoted Paula Kosmatka to Director – Merchandising and Design. In making the announcement, Todd Yates, Woolrich VP of sales and marketing at Woolrich, Inc., stated, ” In a short time, Paula has helped move the Woolrich brand forward developing relevant product for those who enjoy the outdoors. In her three years at Woolrich, she has evolved as a leader with a clear direction. I am certain the industry will continue to see our product lines evolve under her leadership.”

Kosmatka joined Woolrich in February 2000 as the men’s and women’s outerwear designer. In August of that year, Woolrich named Kosmatka to the position of design director. In creating the position, Woolrich assigned Kosmatka to refocus brand development to concentrate on functional outdoor apparel and associated products relevant to today’s outdoor lifestyle.

In her expanded role, Kosmatka will continue to report to Yates. Lederle Eberhart, senior merchandising manager, will now report to Kosmatka. Kosmatka’s department reports include men’s and women’s sportswear, outerwear and sweaters; Woolrich Sporting Group, Discovery Channel Quest licensed apparel and special makes; as well as Woolrich Home & Outdoor Living.

Kosmatka attended the University of Wyoming and is a graduate of the Traphagen School of Design, NYC. Paula’s 25-year career in domestic and international outdoor design includes numerous freelance design assignments in addition to co-owning-with her husband, Dave-the Bridger Mountain Pack Co.

Prior to joining Woolrich, Paula designed for Lands End, Fila Outdoor and Winter Sports, Marmot Mountain LTD., Life Link International, CB Sports and Aspen Skiwear. Design highlights include “Best of 10 New Products” at ‘94 Fly Tackle Dealer Show for Bridger Mountain Pack Co. and for the Marmot Mountain Trient Jacket- recognized by SNEWS as “Best Ski Jacket of the Year – ‘95.”
