The United States Professional Tennis Association, Inc. (USPTA) announced that after seven years, Wilson Sporting Goods has moved away from its endorsement partnership—providing racquets, balls, strings, and other equipment to its members and programs.
While Wilson plans to channel its resources into more direct relationships, the company said it would continue its ongoing support of USPTA’s advisory staff, according to a statement from the USPTA.
“Most members are aware of the long-term relationship that I have had with Wilson, both personally and professionally,” said John Embree, USPTA CEO. “USPTA has played a significant role in Wilson’s success over the years, so this decision to move on from our endorsement is disappointing, but we will find new ways to best support our members.”
The USPTA is in the process of securing a new equipment partner.
