Firearms and outdoor equipment retailer Webyshops.com was named to the 2014 Inc. 500 List of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. The list was recently announced on Aug. 20, and Webyshops is positioned at 381 out of 5000 total companies. The list highlights for-profit US companies that have accomplished rapid growth in their respective industries over a period of three years.
Webyshops CEO Mikhail Orlov commented on the company's first appearance on the list: “The credit goes to our employees, key brand partners, distributors, and outdoor enthusiasts who helped us get to where we are today. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into growing Webyshops into the company it is today, and we are just getting started. We are honored to be on the list, and we look forward to making the trip back several times in the years to come. While the shooting sports industry has received a lot of bad press over the last several years we see ourselves as a company that is bringing about change and an unforgettable gear experience for customers that enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and the freedoms afforded by the 2nd Amendment.”
The Inc. 500 / 5000 List was first featured in 1982, and today it has become the premier award used to measure growth and success in privately owned companies. Previous prestigious winners include Zappos, Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, and Oracle to name a few. Companies who made this year's list had to be founded and in operation by the end of the first quarter of 2010 to be considered, and while 2010 revenue requirements were at $100,000 or more, awarded companies had to reach $2 million in revenue by 2013 to qualify for the list. The September issue of Inc. 500 will feature Webyshops as one the top 500 companies of the 2014 list.
