WaveCel, the manufacturer of Type II-rated safety helmets, promoted David Visnack from chief marketing officer to chief executive officer.

Since joining the company in 2023, Visnack has “played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to protect the head and brain through innovative helmet design and in managing partnerships with Trek Bicycle and Burton/Anon, who adopted WaveCel technology in the brand’s cycling and ski/snowboard helmets.

“David has been an invaluable asset to our team, and his deep understanding of our mission and technology positions WaveCel for continued growth,” said Dr. Steve Madey, co-founder of WaveCel. “As we expand our focus to workplace safety in manufacturing and heavy industrial settings, his vision will be key to communicating the importance of WaveCel’s unparalleled protection for the brain.”

Visnack was promoted as WaveCel expands its product line, including new helmets (WaveCel T2+ Pro and T2+ Max ) designed to mitigate traumatic brain against rotational forces and lateral impacts during slips, falls or impact from falling objects.

“I am honored to take on this new role and lead WaveCel into its next chapter,” said Visnack. “With our innovative technology and commitment to safety, we have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across various industries. I look forward to working with our talented team and partners to push the boundaries of helmet safety.”

Founded by a surgeon and biomedical engineer, WaveCel reported in a media release that the brand’s technology “features a spatial cellular structure that absorbs impact energy through crumpling, flexing and gliding mechanisms, offering up to 73 percent more rotational force absorption compared to standard helmets, significantly reducing the risk of concussion.”
