Wattbike appointed Greg Nieuwenhuys as chairman of the board of directors, effective immediately.
A CEO and non-executive director, Nieuwenhuys is chairman of Mammut Sports Group; previously, he was the CEO of U.K. retailers Cotswold Outdoors, Snow+Rock and Runners Need, after having led Bever, the outdoor retailer in the Netherlands.
Wattbike, which focuses on the indoor bike category, said it has “ambitious growth plans, as well as investment by consumer brands specialist investor Piper; this appointment is another step towards achieving its vision.”
Rich Baker, Wattbike CEO, said, “Greg has an impressive track record, both in the office and across his personal achievements. His ability to combine his strong interpersonal and analytical skills, his experience of the global sports market, along with his energy will be a fantastic asset to our team and brand.”
