Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has recognized Act Lab's expertise and industry testing specialization by adding Act USA and Act China to their list of preferred vendor test labs.

This allows suppliers of bicycles, helmets, scooters, and specific sporting goods, toys and accessories destined for Walmart USA retails stores, Walmart.com and Sam's Club to contract Act Lab as an independent third-party test lab to confirm their products meet the necessary safety and compliance requirements and test protocols set by the mass-merchant, as well as those mandated by the federal government.

“Walmart invited Act Lab last fall to their headquarters in Bentonville, AK to give a presentation to Walmart's in-house product safety and compliance management team,” states John Bogler, Act Lab president and general manager. He continued, “We are excited that Walmart has notified us that we will be able to assist Walmart suppliers with their testing needs. This will also allow Act to better serve many of our current customers that sell both into the independent retail and the mass-merchant channels.” Act Lab is one of eight labs worldwide that are included in Walmart's approved lab list.

Once selected, Walmart informed their merchants and suppliers by memo that the new test labs were selected “…to provide consistency for our suppliers for safety, regulatory and, where needed, quality testing…and to ensure we continue to provide our suppliers with labs that have the most advanced technical expertise, in the best locations, and at the best price.” Walmart also noted that certain product categories require suppliers to annually register with a specific test lab. Suppliers interested in Act can find out more information by contacting Act Lab or visiting them online at www.act-lab.com.
